Sounding Bodies in Nature

Sounding Bodies in Nature

Sounding Bodies in Nature, was a residency between 7-15th of October 2024 in which sound-art and contemporary dance converge through archival research into the memories of each of the invited artists, in order to value their roots and their devotion to nature.

Emphasizing the importance of the feminine dimension, this residency sought to value the oral tradition of women throughout history in different countries, with care for nature as the project's connecting link.

The group met the first time in Bucharest and returned together in Águeda to start a new project together. During their stay they delved into research and the sharing of their practices. They went on a ‘preservation of forest’ trip with the Cabeço Santo association and attended the Meeting of Traditions in Agueda wherein several folk groups of the area participated.

Invited artists: Andrea Beltramo, Carlota Berzal, Cristina Lilienfeld, Casey Moir, Wura Moraes, Niyayesh Nahavandy, Sabina Ulubeanu and for documentation Fernando Vilchez Rodrigues.
